Can laminate flooring be installed directly over existing carpet?

No, laminate flooring should never be fitted directly over carpet or carpet underlay. The soft under-layer causes too much vertical movement, which will break the click-locking joints of the laminate over time.

Can laminate flooring be installed over underfloor heating?

Absolutely. Most of our laminate flooring ranges are fully compatible with both water and electric underfloor heating systems when installed with the correct thermal underlay.

Do I really need underlay when installing laminate flooring?

Yes, underlay is essential. It levels out minor subfloor imperfections, provides sound insulation, acts as a moisture barrier, and improves underfoot comfort and thermal efficiency.

How long after delivery does laminate flooring need to acclimate?

We recommend letting the unopened laminate boxes acclimate flat in the room where they will be installed for at least 48 hours. This allows the planks to adjust to the home’s temperature and humidity levels prior to fitting.

How long does a laminate floor typically last?

With proper care and maintenance, high-quality laminate flooring can easily last between 15 to 25 years. Many of our top brands come with long residential warranties for added peace of mind.

Is laminate flooring suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes! Many modern laminate ranges feature water-repellent surface coatings and moisture-sealed joints, making them ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and utility areas.
